Thanks to the generous support of QUOTA Heidelberg, healthAbility now has Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation & Phonology (DEAP) assessment.
DEAP detects and differentiates between articulation problems, delayed phonology and consistent versus inconsistent phonological disorder. As the diagnostic screen takes only 5 minutes, this allows Speech Pathologists to spend more time focusing on treatment instead of diagnosis and see other children.
“Using this resource will allow a greater number of children to access our community speech pathology clinic as the clients can be assessed in a timely manner and results used to establish the type and extent of speech disorder that they may have,” says Sally Fyfe, Clinical Lead of Speech Pathology.
DEAP supports children’s speech by:
• Allowing the Speech Pathologists to quickly identify and establish the type and extent of speech disorder
• Effectively detecting of a speech related disorder
• Allowing the Speech Pathologist to quickly and accurately plan a course of speech pathology therapy for the child and family.
• Allowing a greater number of children to access the community speech pathology clinic
healthAbility’s Speech Pathology service is available to anyone in our community including NDIS Participants. Contact us on 9430 9100 to discuss your needs or make an appointment.
