Strong People Stay Young
This group has now resumed, but there are some restrictions in place to help keep our community safe and stop the spread of COVID-19.

This is a strength training program designed to increase people’s muscle strength. It is focused on the model developed by Dr Miriam Nelson for the prevention of osteoporosis, diabetes and improving your general health and wellbeing.
Who supervises this group?
Volunteers who have been trained by healthAbility physiotherapists lead each session. healthAbility physiotherapists attend 3 times a month to supervise and assist participants in their initial session. Volunteers report to physiotherapists who oversee the group.
Currently the Strong People Stay Young group is using GoToMeeting (video call) which is free for participants to access from the comfort of their own homes.
When is the group held?
- Tuesdays 9.30am – 10.30am
- Tuesdays 10.30am – 11.30am
- Fridays 9.30am – 10.30am
- Fridays 10.30am – 11.30am
