It’s Wednesday just any ordinary Wednesday, except if you attend our Out and About: Younger Onset Dementia group, Wednesday is one of your favourite days of the week. On Wednesdays you get picked up from your home and get to visit some of Melbourne’s tourist attractions, or maybe it will be bowling today, or attending a music concert all with people in a similar situation to you.

You make new friends, friends with people who understand that younger onset dementia is unique in that people with this condition are under 65 years of age, can be fit, healthy, working, raising a family when everything changes. This group offers your family, often a carer some respite while you take in some local venues, food and good company.

I have something to look forward to each week. It makes me so happy to have a group of friends that I can go out with. It gets me out of the house and I enjoy the activities and friendships”. – Chris

I enjoy the Morning Melodies, I like music and dancing, I also like all the sightseeing”. – Arthur

“I miss catching up with the group if I can’t attend, I like how I get the opportunity to see things I haven’t seen before”. – James

“I would recommend the group, I really like how the group leader sends photos of our day out to my wife”.David
