What is Baby Makes 3?
Baby Makes 3 is an evidence-based, award-winning education and social change initiative that shapes long-term attitudes and social norms. It challenges rigid gendered expectations in parenting, and builds equal and respectful relationships between men and women.
Becoming a new parent is a key transition point in the life course that presents important opportunities to reduce gender inequality. It is critical that the rigid gendered expectations of parenting, which often sees women as experts and primary carers, and men as the bread winner and support parent, are not reinforced in antenatal and maternity settings.
Since 2009, Carrington Health (now known as healthAbility) has been working to promote equality in parenting through Baby Makes 3, to support families to thrive.
