New HeadtoHelp Hub in Box Hill – Free, confidential mental health support
02 December 2020
People in Box Hill and surrounds have access to a new mental health service through a HeadtoHelp hub in Box Hill, one of more than 15 HeadtoHelp hubs throughout Victoria. HeadtoHelp is a free confidential service that can help people find the best mental health support for them.
HeadtoHelp provides an experienced mental health professional who will listen and work with the person to find the best ways for them to get the help they need.
Depending on their needs, they may:
- Be connected with suitable existing services
- Receive care at HeadtoHelp hub, either onsite or through telehealth
- Be connected to specialist or acute mental health services, including into emergency care
HeadtoHelp is available to anyone in the community, including those without a mental health treatment plan or referral from their GP. The HeadtoHelp Box Hill service is provided by healthAbility and is located at 43 Carrington Rd, Box Hill. The hubs are COVID safe, so before visiting people should call first to talk to a hub team member.
Chief Executive Officer healthAbility, Ronda Jacobs said the HeadtoHelp hub in Box Hill offers services via face-to-face and telehealth.
“The HeadtoHelp hub will provide a full suite of local mental health services to support our community as we recover from this unforeseen crisis. Early intervention is key to mental health recovery and I encourage people to get helper sooner rather than later when issues can be compounded,” she said.
HeadtoHelp is a collaborative initiative of Victoria’s Primary Health Networks and funded by the Australian Government.
