Nillumbik Community Awards
20 September 2023
At the Nillumbik Community Awards last month, we were thrilled to see members of the healthAbility team recognised for their contributions to diversity and inclusion.
Sandra Verdam (pictured below), who is a volunteer at our Memory Care Café and part of the Open Minds Nillumbik Dementia Alliance, was awarded Contribution of the Year for Diversity and Inclusion for her work facilitating a welcoming and supportive environment for people with dementia and carers.
Therapy Dog Gucci, who works with her owner Jade, our Team Leader - Youth and Psychosocial Support Services, was awarded for her work with local school students. Gucci plays a pivotal role within the school environment, aiding students in their transitions, providing guidance for anxiety management, and skillfully nurturing connections.
