Understanding the NDIS - 28 February

07 February 2023

A support worker and a client smile at each other in the client's living room. The client's dog lies on the floor.

Free session for carers to understand and learn more about the NDIS

If you care for someone under the age of 65 with a permanent disability, they may be able to receive National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding. The NDIS provides funding for eligible people with a disability to gain greater independence and improve their quality of life.

Carers play a large role in supporting their loved one throughout the NDIS process, and this session aims to equip you with knowledge about how the NDIS works, including how to navigate the system and types of supports available.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • How the NDIS can support your loved one
  • How NDIS plans can fund different types of supports
  • Ways to manage your NDIS plan

This session is intended for people caring for or supporting a family member or friend accessing or navigating the NDIS.

This session will be delivered by Brandi Rutherford - Support Coordination Team Leader, healthAbility.

Brandi is a highly valued leader in the disability sector and has extensive experience (30+ years) and knowledge in disability rights, NDIS and support coordination. Brandi is dedicated to promoting equal opportunities and creating a more inclusive environment for people with disabilities.
