Winners! Victorian Public Healthcare Awards 2022

We are excited to announce that healthAbility was a member of the winning partnership led by Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in the 2022 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards announced at the Gala Night on 13 October in the Safer Care Victoria partnering in health care category. There were three finalists in total for this award, amongst 13 other general awards, and is in recognition of the outstanding iCanEAT: implementation of the iCanEAT cancer nutrition care pathway for people with cancer, carers & health professionals project.
For this project, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre recruited seven implementation sites to help pilot and evaluate interactive cancer nutrition care resources. healthAbility was one of three primary care implementation sites, together with Access Health and Community and Deepdene Surgery.
Congratulations to the lead team for this huge achievement: Jenelle Loeliger- Project Manager and Rebecca McIntosh - Project Officer, who is also an Accredited Practicing Dietitian at healthAbility. Our involvement in this project was solidified by our Good Life - Cancer Survivorship program, which Rebecca leads. We also extend our congratulations and big thank you to Fiona Wallace, Alex Salmon, Carol Ho, Melinda Purnell, Karin Chua, Judy Clarke who were involved as the local healthAbility implementation team.
This award also recognises of the intrinsic value of partnerships. It demonstrates our important role in providing services that bring greater benefit to our community and work to establish a more co-ordinated health system in our region.
