Launching our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
28 November 2023
On Friday 24 November we were proud to launch our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in front of our staff and stakeholders.
Our Reflect RAP represents our commitment and genuine desire to grow and strengthen as an organisation in how we engage, understand and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and their communities, towards achieving reconciliation.
In partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we will seek to understand and acknowledge injustices, support active expression of culture, apply culturally appropriate practice, and make a measurable difference in addressing health and social inequities and helping to improve health and social outcomes for and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our Reflect RAP will commit to building relationships and trust with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and build understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and inequities as the foundation of our reconciliation work.
On display at the launch was the beautiful and intricate artwork for our RAP by artist Alinta Koehrer. Entitled ‘Healing Journey’, the artwork represents healthAbility and our values and principles, and illustrates our path towards reconciliation.
We were also honoured to have Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Colin Hunter Jnr in attendance, who commenced the event with a moving Welcome to Country.
We sincerely thank everyone who attended for helping us celebrate this significant milestone for our organisation, and being a part of our reconciliation journey.
