Our group activities support independence, wellbeing, and social connection for all adults, including older people, people with disability and carers.
Sessions focus on confidence, community, and fun. Day trips, transport, meals, and funding options may be available.
There are many reasons to join one of our social activity groups:

Staying connected to the community and social interaction
Maintaining skills needed for living independently
Keeping the body and mind active

Costs below include fees for Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) participants, or Home Care Package (HCP) or Support at Home (SaH) clients. Please note the costs below do not include transport, which can be arranged for an extra fee.

Social activity groups - Nillumbik
A warm, inclusive space for carers and loved ones living with dementia to connect, engage in creative activities, and hear from guest presenters on health, wellbeing, and self-care topics.
When: Fortnightly 2nd and 4th Tuesday of month
Time: 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Where: St Margaret’s Anglican Church Hall - 78-81 Pitt St, Eltham
Cost: CHSP - $5, HCP/SaH - $55
Enjoy live music and entertainment in a social setting with lunch available for purchase. Great atmosphere, reserved seating, and connection with others.
Free tea/coffee included.
When: Twice per month
Time: 10.00am-1.00pm
Where: healthAbility Eltham - 917 Main Road, Eltham
Cost: CHSP - $12, HCP/SaH - $55
A flexible, participant-led social group exploring new places and activities – from BBQs and markets to gallery visits and coffee catch-ups.
Morning tea and lunch may be included depending on activity (confirmed prior).
When: 3rd Wednesday of each month
Time: 10.00am-2.00pm
Where: Location varies (meet at Eltham or Mullum Mullum Stadium in Donvale)
Cost: CHSP - $25.50, HCP/SaH - $55
Enjoy a relaxed and fun-filled morning playing bowls at Montmorency Bowls Club. This regular outing offers a welcoming environment to try your hand at the game, share some laughs, and connect with others. All skill levels welcome.
Participants can meet at the venue or use local transport options.

Activities include trivia, active games, gentle movement, guest speakers, and social engagement. Morning tea and lunch are offered. Transport available by prior arrangement.

Join us for a delicious outing to the Were Street Food Store, where you can enjoy a morning of sweet or savory pancakes for just $10.
It's a great opportunity to relax, connect with others, and enjoy some good food in a welcoming atmosphere.
You're welcome to meet us directly at the venue, arrange transport with us from healthAbility in Eltham.
This outing happens monthly on a Tuesday. Dates confirmed at booking.

Social activity groups - Whitehorse
The healthAbility Shed, located in Nunawading, provides an opportunity for you to get together and work on projects in a supportive workshop environment. Each week our ‘Shedders’ participate in activities matched to their strengths, skills and interests.
When: Thursdays and Fridays monthly
Time: 10.00am-2.00pm
Where: healthAbility Men's Shed, 66 Dunlavin Road Nunawading
Cost: CHSP - $20. All other funding is directly invoiced through healthAbility.
The Welcome Café is a place for people with younger onset dementia and their family, partners or friends. It’s a chance to chat and share experiences in a relaxed and supportive environment. The café events are all held in Box Hill and locations are determined when you book in. Light morning tea and hot drinks are provided.
Who: People diagnosed with Younger Onset Dementia and their carers
When: On the third Tuesday of each month
Where: healthAbility Box Hill, 43 Carrington Road Box Hill, or another nearby venue

We have a fleet of vehicles and drivers that provide transport to our centre-based social activity groups and personal or community-based activities. Please speak to one of our friendly team members to see if you are eligible for transport assistance.
