We offer a range of affordable dental services from our two dental clincis in Eltham and Box Hill, including:

• General dental services, including examinations, scale and clean, extractions, fillings, X-rays, surgical wisdom teeth removal and specialist referrals.

• Children’s dental services, including cleaning, examinations, orthodontics, X-rays, extractions, fillings, partial dentures, root canal therapy, specialist referrals, dietary advice, fissure sealing, and dental products

• Cosmetic dental services, including veneers and teeth whitening

• Preventative dental services, including scale and clean, fissure sealants and mouth guards

• Restorative dental services, including dentures, bridges, crowns, root canals and fillings

• Little Chompers school visits to teach children the value of a healthy diet, good oral healthcare, correct brushing technique, and more

We offer the unique combination of private and publicly funded dental care to ensure we can care for the community’s varying oral health needs. We are a registered provider of Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) which means we can provide children’s dental free for those eligible or at a small charge through Medicare for non-eligible children.

We offer free children’s dental checks in pre-schools, kindergartens and child care centres through our dental outreach information program – Little Chompers. To read more see our Little Chompers page.

Our dental professionals will inspect your child’s teeth for any signs of decay, cavities or gum disease during the appointment. We may also complete a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and calculus from your child’s teeth and polish them to leave them feeling smooth and prevent bacteria from sticking.

We recommend booking your child in for a check-up and clean every six to 12 months to maintain good oral health and well-being.

A dental clean involves the removal of plaque and calculus, followed by a clean and polish to leave teeth smooth and help prevent bacteria sticking.

Fissure sealants are thin coatings placed over the pits and fissures at back teeth to create a protective layer. Fissure sealants prevent food from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and reduce the risk of tooth decay.

Tooth Mousse Plus is a water based, sugar free dental topical crème containing Recaldent™ CPP-ACP and Sodium Fluoride 0.2% w/w (900 ppm). When applied to the tooth surface, Tooth Mousse Plus can rebuild subsurface areas of defect in enamel, including white spot lesions from dental caries, white spot lesions associated with orthodontic treatment, erosion, and fluorosis.

Directions for Tooth Mousse Plus:

1. Use Tooth Mousse Plus nightly, just before bedtime

2. Brush and floss your teeth as instructed. Rinse with water

3. If necessary dry your teeth with a cotton bud or tissue

4. Apply a small amount of the Tooth Mousse Plus to the tooth surfaces using a clean finger

5. Leave it undisturbed for at least 3 minutes

6. With your tongue, spread remaining Tooth Mousse Plus throughout the mouth and leave the mousse there for as long as possible

7. Spit out any excess

8. Do not eat, drink or rinse out for 30 minutes. This time will allow your teeth to absorb the Tooth Mousse Plus into the enamel

A tooth extraction is also known as having a tooth pulled out, it involves the removal of a tooth from its bone socket.

A filling is a minor procedure to help restore a damaged tooth to its normal function and shape. Fillings are commonly used to treat decay or repair worn or chipped teeth. They look and feel like real teeth, and can assume the same function as natural teeth.

X-rays help dental professionals to help detect mouth abnormalities invisible to the human eye, like wisdom teeth. An Orthopantomagram (OPG) machine is able to scan the upper and lower jaw in one image. We have an OPG machine available for clients at both of our clinics.

Yes we are able to arrange referrals to specialists such as Orthodontists and Oral Surgeons if required.

Yes, we always keep emergency appointments available each day, although these spots are limited. If you need emergency services, please contact us at (03) 9430 9100 to book an appointment. Alternatively, if you need an emergency dentist after hours, please contact the Royal Dental Hospital 24-hour emergency services at (03) 9341 1000.

The following people are eligible for publicly funded dental health services:

• Children aged 0-12 years
• Teenagers aged 13-17 years who hold an eligible concession card or who are a dependent of someone who holds a healthcare or pensioner concession card
• Adults who hold a pensioner or healthcare concession card

Children

Our services are FREE for children aged 0-17 years who are either concession card holders or dependents of concession card holders as well as children aged 2-17 years who are Child Dental Benefits Schedule recipients.

For children aged 0-12 years who are NOT dependents of concession card holders or concession card holders themselves are charged at a rate of $35.00 per course of dental care. We charge a flat per child fee for general check ups and dental treatment with family fees capped at $140.00.

We do not charge for emergency treatment of children.
